Site Safety Coordinator

Tindol Construction is currently seeking to hire Site Safety Coordinators for Solar Project Sites through various project sites in Virginia. Ideally, candidates should be able to travel to project sites in states such as VA, PA, NC, SC, TN, KY, and GA areas throughout the year. This candidate will work with other company Safety Professionals and project teams within the company to ensure Tindol Construction maintains and develops a solid safety culture across the entire project they are assigned to. Additionally, they will work with Site Safety Professionals, Specialists and Consultants that work for the project owner, developer and site EPC (contractor) to support our maintaining their safety program expectations and contractual requirements.

In 2004, Patriot Dozer Services was formed as a family operation by Jason Tindol while working with his father Dale. Tindol Construction quickly became known for getting the job done right and is now run by Jason and his brother Garrett Tindol. The company was renamed Tindol Construction to better suit the growing service lines. Today, we provide civil site construction services throughout the U.S. in the Oil & Gas, Wind, Solar and Energy Storage sectors. Additionally, we provide aggregate materials to various clients and projects in South Texas and along the Gulf Coast through our South Texas aggregate quarries. Finally, we provide maintenance & integrity and facility work to the energy market.

  • Coordinate with Project Management and Safety Manager Competent Person Designations and Training Requirements that will comply with OSHA and Client requirements.
  • Develop Site Specific Safety, EAP, and Spill Prevention Plans.
  • Provide GPS Coordinates of job site entrances for Traffic Control Onsite Plans.
  • Safety Personnel shall be dedicated solely for the purposes of Site Safety consultation and assistance with identification and correction of recognized safety hazards. Safety Personnel shall not be responsible for any other Project Sites, production, scheduling, payroll, security, quality control, timekeeping, ordering suppliers other than safety supplies.
  • Serve as technical advisors to their project management team on safety and health planning, training, and problem resolution issues.
  • Be a visible presence in the field as much as possible and be an active champion of safety through observation and coaching.
  • Ensure PPE is provided, and use enforced, inventory and order for the project.
  • Enforce company’s health and safety program procedures. Accompany Tindol Construction supervisory personnel as directed and perform joint inspections of work areas and activities.
  • Complete Daily Safety Inspections Reports of work sites with pictures of discrepancies complete the reports with corrective actions and or pictures.
  • Attend and participate in weekly safety meetings.
  • Incident Commander in accident/incident/illness/injury investigations collecting all accident investigation data , picture taking and submitting initial report for review.
  • Return to Work procedures shall be known and followed.
  • Provide Foreman with daily safety topics for the toolbox/ meetings or safety meetings.
  • Review JSA’s, BBS, Excavation Checklist, and SIRs for effectiveness and scan to the one drive.
  • Attend and periodically conduct toolbox/tailgate meetings to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Implement required safety-training programs for subcontractor employees and supervisors.
  • Upkeep Training and Operators Matrix located in the Safety Division file on the One Drive.
  • Pre-employment, randoms and post incident drug testing.
  • Daily Fit for Duty evaluation of employees.
  • Verify 811 are active and correct.


  • Bachelor’s degree in safety or related technical field with a minimum of 2-5 years of project experience in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience project in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional and completion of the OSHA 500 Training Course.
  • A CHST designation with a minimum of two years in a construction safety role as a titled safety professional.
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and management skills.
